Connecting To ClonnyServer IRC

This is a quick guide on how to set up and use ClonnyServer IRC:

1) Install OpenSSL

Go to http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/openssl.htm and install the appropriate OpenSSL files

For Windows, I recommend http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html

You might need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributble also; Click Here

2) Install mIRC, or another SSL-enabled IRC client

If you do not already have mIRC installed, go to www.mirc.com and follow the instructions on installing mIRC. Any other SSL-enabled IRC client should work fine.

3) Configure mIRC

Follow the below screenshots to configure mIRC to connect to ClonnyServer IRC;

Open mIRC

Click on File, then “Select Server”

Click Add

Description: Anything you like, helps you identify the server when connecting

IRC Server: irc.clonnyserver.com

Ports: +1337. Do not forget the plus symbol.

Password: username:password i.e CoolDude:MyPassword

4) Selecting The Server And Connecting

Once you’ve done this, press OK then highlight the server and press Select

Now you can finish setting your nickname, real name and then connect.

To change any settings, go to https://irc.clonnyserver.com:1337 and follow the instructions onscreen.

If you have any problems, email services@clonnyserver.com and I will get back to you.

Scripts

I have written a couple of scripts which help with the playback of the away logs (ZNC) and automatically detecting wether or not you are identified to AustNet (CheckID). They were written for personal use and are not guaranteed to work. Give them a go if you like;

ZNC Buffer Playback Script by dematerialised

CheckID by dematerialised
